AI & Automation

Smart by default. Sceptical on purpose.

What works today is rule-based automation and structured, connected data — deadline tracking, escalation routing, evidence captured as a byproduct of care. Advanced insight and generative intelligence is on a deliberate roadmap, and every AI output is reviewed by a person before it counts.

Our approach to AI in aged care

We're not racing to ship AI features for the sake of it. We're focused on getting the right data into the right places first — structured, connected, and flowing in real time. Then we layer on automation and intelligence that genuinely reduces the burden on care teams.

The result: AI that works with complete context, not fragments pulled from disconnected systems. Intelligence that gets more useful as you use the platform — not as a separate add-on you buy on top.

Intelligence Roadmap

Three layers of intelligence.

Each layer applies across every module you use. You don't need the full platform to benefit — AI meets you where you start.

Layer 1Live today

Smart Foundations

Intelligent defaults, structured data capture, and real-time connections between modules. The platform does the organising so your team doesn't have to.

  • Structured data capture mapped to regulatory requirements from day one
  • Automatic cross-module linking — incidents to care plans, staffing to compliance
  • Real-time dashboards with configurable alerts and thresholds
  • Evidence generated as a byproduct of care, not a separate task
Layer 2In development

Automation & Assistance

Removing repetitive work from every module. Automated workflows, smart suggestions, and AI-assisted drafting that save hours of admin each week.

  • AI-assisted clinical documentation and care plan drafting
  • Smart roster optimisation for care minutes and skill mix compliance
  • Automated incident classification with suggested severity and routing
  • One-click audit pack generation from live operational data
Layer 3On the roadmap

Advanced Early-Warning Insight

AI that helps you act earlier. Pattern recognition and rules-based, heuristic early-warning signals — with the contributing factors shown — that help your team act before problems escalate.

  • Rules-based, heuristic early-warning signals for resident deterioration and falls, with contributing factors shown
  • Natural language queries across your entire operational dataset
  • Funding optimisation insights for AN-ACC and Support at Home
  • Cross-site pattern detection for incidents, complaints, and clinical trends
Live todayRules-based, not a black box

Risk signals that flag early — transparently.

Statura Care runs a live operational early-warning capability that surfaces clients trending toward falls, hospitalisation, or decline before they tip over. It is rule-based and heuristic — deliberately not machine-learning forecasting — so every signal is explainable. The platform shows you exactly which contributing factors raised the flag, and a person always decides what to do next.

Early warning, live now

Clients trending toward falls, unplanned hospitalisation, or functional decline are flagged from the data already flowing through your modules — no separate import, no waiting on a black-box model.

Transparent by design

Every flag is rule-based and shows its working — the contributing factors that raised it are listed plainly. It is not a black box, not an opaque score, and not an AI forecast you have to take on faith.

A clinician always decides

Risk signals prompt a review — they don't make clinical decisions. Your team reads the contributing factors and decides the response. The platform surfaces the concern; the professional acts on it.

This is distinct from the more advanced early-warning capabilities on our Layer 3 roadmap above. Today's early-warning capability is deliberately rule-based and explainable — and it's live now.

AI Across Every Module

Where intelligence adds value.

A map of where intelligence helps across the platform. The rule-based automation and structured data capture are live today; the AI-assisted drafting, smart optimisation and advanced early-warning capabilities are on the roadmap (Layers 2–3 above) and will always present suggestions a person reviews before they count.

Clinical Governance

Care plans, assessments, progress notes

  • AI-assisted care plan generation from assessment data
  • Automated clinical note summarisation across shifts
  • Rules-based deterioration prompts based on weight, behaviour, and vitals trends
  • Care plan review prompts triggered by changing clinical indicators

Workforce Management

Rostering, qualifications, training

  • Smart roster optimisation balancing care minutes, skill mix, and cost
  • Automated qualification and training expiry alerts with renewal workflows
  • Forward-looking absence pattern review for proactive cover planning
  • Shift swap matching based on qualifications and availability

Compliance & Quality

Quality Standards, audit readiness, quality indicators

  • Automated evidence mapping to the 7 Strengthened Quality Standards
  • Compliance gap detection with prioritised remediation suggestions
  • Quality indicator trend analysis with benchmarking against sector data
  • Audit pack assembly from live data, generated on demand

Incident & Risk

SIRS, falls, restrictive practices

  • Intelligent incident triage with suggested severity classification
  • Automated SIRS notification drafting with pre-populated regulatory fields
  • Pattern detection across falls, infections, and behavioural incidents
  • Root cause analysis assistance linking incidents to staffing and care patterns

Financial & Funding

AN-ACC, Support at Home, reporting

  • AN-ACC funding optimisation insights based on resident acuity data
  • Cost-to-serve analysis per resident and per service line
  • Revenue leakage detection from under-coded or missed care activities
  • Automated variance explanations for board financial reporting

Operations & Admin

Policies, documents, communications

  • AI-assisted policy and procedure drafting aligned to current standards
  • Smart document version control with automated review reminders
  • Family and resident communication drafting from clinical updates
  • Board report generation pulling insights from across all modules

Why this matters.

AI is only as good as the data it works with. The difference between intelligence and guesswork is whether the system sees the full picture or just one fragment of it.

AI on fragmented systems

Relies on CSV imports and manual uploads. Sees only what you remember to feed it. Misses the connections between clinical events, staffing patterns, and incidents. Adds another tool to manage.

AI on Statura Care

Works on live, connected data from the modules you actually use. Sees relationships automatically. Gets smarter as your data grows. No imports, no extra tools, no blind spots.

Frequently asked questions.

Is AI included in all pricing plans?

Yes. Layer 1 (Smart Foundations) is built into every package from day one — there is no AI add-on or premium tier. Layer 2 and Layer 3 capabilities will be rolled out to all plans as they become available.

Does the AI require separate data entry or imports?

No. Intelligence works on the live, connected data already flowing through the modules you use. There are no CSV imports, no manual uploads, and no separate data pipeline to manage.

How does AI handle clinical decision-making?

AI assists clinical staff — it does not replace clinical judgement. AI-generated suggestions (care plan drafts, deterioration alerts, early-warning signals with contributing factors shown) are presented as recommendations that clinicians review and approve. The clinical professional always has the final decision.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your data is not used to train shared or cross-tenant AI models, and it is never shared with other organisations. It stays within your organisation's tenancy. Today's intelligence is rule-based automation working on your live data; as advanced early-warning features roll out, they will operate within your tenancy with a person reviewing every output before it counts.

What makes this different from adding AI to our existing systems?

AI on fragmented systems relies on imports and sees only what you feed it. AI on Statura Care works on live, connected data from every module — it sees relationships between clinical events, staffing patterns, incidents, and financial data automatically. No imports, no blind spots.
